"A Message To Humanity"
A friend sent me this video, thinking I might find the message to be quite powerful. How right she was.
The voice over is an excerpt from The Great Dictator¸ the 1940 film in which Charlie Chaplin plays Hitler in a satirical role intended to highlight the shortcomings of that time.
One of my first thoughts was of John Lennon’s song Imagine. So different, yet so similar conveying powerful messages about humanity and mankind.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” A profound life statement and vision. One Gandhi exemplified by his own life.
Who else sees and wants change in the world? I know I do.
But where and how does one start on such a global journey? Do we even want to? Or, is it easier to “look the other way” and justify it by believing, “who am I? I cannot do anything.”
What would the world be like if Mandela, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King, prophet Muhammad, Jesus, Einstein, the Wrights brothers and so many others had “looked the other way?”
It’s a tough decision. Even more daunting is contemplating what to do. And doing nothing just means we shall see this same video again in the future – except perhaps with different pictures.
We all want more, a better life don’t we? Of course, otherwise what are we striving for in life?
I have reason to know that you are and can be the change, the difference for the world and this life. All that you require in order to be that, is to take one small, first step – even if it may seem larger than life. I can assure you, however, that it is not.
The first step you require is: a change of mind set; your thinking; your belief about yourself.
That will lead you to your second step: which is not “who am I? I cannot do anything;” but rather, “what I will do is …” – because deep within you, already know and have always seen and known the change you wish/want for this world.
You are the difference. We are the difference.
Humanity, as it is, can be changed – NOW.
